My friend and I decided we needed some fresh air, farmers market therapy to recharge us for the upcoming week…  So we ventured out to the Seminole Heights Sunday Market this past Sunday. I hadn’t been in several years, since newphew owned a cupcake food truck attending as a vendor.

This pop up style farmers market is located on the grounds of one of Tampa’s most historic high schools, Hillsborough High. Parking was easy and convienient. We arrived and 10am, shortly after they opened and street parking was nearly full. There was a good crowd milling around already.

We didn’t make it far until my friend stopped for a bratwurst, which she enjoyed with a smathering of grainy mustard. With my content friend in tow, we did a once over to see what we wanted to purchase. But honestly we were more focused on the food vendors.

We browsed the food trucks, brownie, guacamole, syrup, goat cheese, marshmallow, banana bread, cookies, artisanal cheese, tea and produce booths before I decided I needed fresh baked bread! And what a good choice I made! Gulf Coast Sourdough’s booth was full of eye catching, mouth watering, soul whispering breads, rolls and loaves. Had he had samples, I would have easily doubled my tab but going off of looks, I grabbed a chocolate babka and the cinnamon swirl loaf. I was kicking myself for not purchasing the rustic rye and sourdough loaf, but that just means I’ll have to pay the market another visit soon! My family just cut into the breads I bought home and solidified my decision…. Each loaf was soft, fresh and bursting with flavor! I am smitten with the chocolate babka!

I later went on Google to see where Gulf Coast Sourdough was located and was elated to see they are local in Tampa. Off of Nebraska, in fact!!!

There were several bohemian style clothing vendors, homemade bath bombs and soap vendors. I saw a few artists, painters and upcycle sculpters. There were herb booths, CBD sellers and baby onsie tents. Throughout the market, you could hear a one man band singing in a calm, relaxing melody. Without a doubt, something for everyone.
