Continuing my “All things magically strawberry” week… I’ve got to dedicate a post to Parkesdale Market! This legendary road side fruit stand is reminiscent of 1960’s Florida fruit stand that you drive past heading to the beach or Disney! You can grab Florida citrus by the bushel, homemade preserves, their popular strawberry cookies, gator jerky, strawberry onions, plants, garden flags, Florida souvenirs and their most popular attraction… strawberry shortcake!!!

This family owned farm stand has a very popular “ice cream shop” with a line extending out into the parking lot at the height of strawberry season! And rightfully so! They serve the best strawberry shortcake and strawberry milkshake the entire Winter Strawberry Capital has to offer, THE best. Parkesdale also offers up banana splits, their very own Dole Whip, ice cream cones, sundaes, frozen cups and a few other varieties of milk shakes! After you order & pay for your ice cream treats, you can enjoy them in their garden eating area. The most expensive item on the menu is just $5 (for a fully loaded strawberry shortcake!), talk about a budget friendly stop to enjoy family time and a sweet treat!

In case you miss out on enjoying the Florida Strawberry Festival, you can visit Parkesdale Market and sit on their strawberry throne while wearing the Strawberry Queen and King crowns and cape! It’s such a great photo op!
